Cassette Unit Installation at Kuala Lumpur
Cassette Unit Installation
Installing a ceiling cassette unit requires precision to ensure proper drainage and aesthetics. This process typically follows these core steps:
1. Positioning & Preparation
-
Location: Choose a central area with no obstructions to airflow. Ensure the ceiling structure can support the unit's weight (often 20kg - 50kg).
-
Marking: Use the provided paper template to mark the ceiling cut-out and the four suspension bolt locations.
-
Cutting: Cut the ceiling opening slightly larger than the unit body but smaller than the decorative panel.
2. Suspension & Mounting
-
Bolts: Install four M10 or W3/8 suspension bolts into the concrete slab or reinforced wooden beams.
-
Hanging: Lift the indoor unit and secure it using double nuts and washers.
-
Leveling: Use a spirit level. The unit must be perfectly horizontal or slightly tilted toward the drain pipe (depending on manufacturer specs) to prevent water leakage.
3. Piping & Electrical
-
Refrigerant Lines: Connect the copper gas and liquid pipes using flare joints. Vacuum the system to remove moisture.
-
Drainage: Connect the drain hose. Cassette units usually have a built-in lift pump; ensure the external pipe has a downward slope of at least 1:100.
-
Wiring: Connect the power and communication cables between the indoor and outdoor units following the wiring diagram.
4. Finishing
-
Panel Installation: Attach the decorative grille (panel). Connect the display and swing-motor wires to the main control board.
-
Test Run: Operate the unit for 30 minutes. Check for abnormal noise, proper cooling/heating, and verify that the drain pump is discharging water correctly.
